Enter the World of Rinpa Art at the Counter
On the first floor is a counter that seats 11 guests, designed to express the worldview of “Rinpa” which is one of technical styles of Japanese art. This is a luxurious space where you can watch the chefs prepare your meal.
A Serene Hall Ideal for Celebratory Events
A spacious dining hall can be found on the second floor. Its size makes it a great choice for special celebrations for groups of four to twelve people.
Yatsufusa Plums
In the garden of Shiba Shiki Tei, there are Yatsufusa plum trees that were given to us by Nikko Toshogu Shrine. These red and white trees have been passed down through the Tokugawa family for a number of generations.

The Shiba Region, a Stage of Edo Genroku Culture
During the Edo Period(1603-1867), the Shiba region prospered greatly in its role as the gateway to the Tokaido Highway. In those days, Geisha could be seen in Shiba area.

Shiba Daijingu Shrine
A shrine that was founded in the Heian Period (794-1185).
Zojoji Temple
A temple of the Jodo (Pure Land) sect of Buddhism. Known for having historical connections to the Tokugawa family, gravesites of shoguns can be found on the grounds of the temple.
Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden
It is a metropolitan garden that celebrates 100 years since it was opened to the public. It is about a 10-minute walk from Shiba Shiki Tei.
Shiba Toshogu Shrine
A shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu. Considered one of Japan’s four main Toshogu shrines and home to a sacred ginkgo tree that has been designated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a Natural Monument.
Sanuki Kohaku Inari Shrine
This Inari shrine was established in 1938 when Sanuki Inari and Kohaku Inari were enshrined together. In the corner of the temple grounds is a large stone known as a “strength stone”, which people in the Edo Period（1603-1867）would attempt to lift as a way to test their strength.
